Very tranquil. Gill had thought of everything and left us to ourselves, which we like. 3 minutes from Cromwell, it felt worlds away. Super comfortable bed and every we needed for a lovely stay.

Peaceful setting on outskirts of Cromwell. Lovely retreat. Lives up to it's name. Great base for vineyard tours, walking or biking trails. Excellent facilities with all the amenities.

The breakfast was generous and delicious! The granola was full of goodness which went beautifully with the vanilla yoghurt and stewed apricots. They provided a quality coffee making machine with pods.

Gill & Noel Edwards Burn Cottage Retreat
This property was built and landscaped from a bare paddock. The gardens are an absolute oasis of beautiful gardens, lush green lawns, beautiful trees, tussocks and woodland gardens which you can see from the photographs. We designed the property for couples who appreciate the finer things in life and would like to enjoy peace and quiet and total privacy amid spectacular surroundings. Our guests appreciate the extra thought and care we have put into creating a wonderful environment and providing everything they need - a fruit orchard, a guest vegetable garden, walnut grove, DVD library and petanque court as well as mountain bikes. We invite you to come and stay - you won't be disappointed. The most frequent guest comments are: "you have thought of everything, we don't want to leave, we wish we could stay longer and we will be back." Come and see for yourself - we recommend a two night stay so you can enjoy everything we have to offer.
We are keen outdoors people who love the outdoors - this part of the world has spectacular scenery, amazing wineries and recently developed NZ rated cycle tracks ?! We love gardening and set very high standards - come and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Bike to the local cafes or enjoy an orchard tour at Jacksons Orchard, visit the Highlands Motorsport Park or Cromwell Heritage Precinct then have a long, lazy lunch at the wineries. Photograph the wildlife, enjoy a game of golf or go fishing. Follow the Arts and Crafts trails, hiking trails or heritage gold trails. Cycle part of the Otago Central Rail Trail or the Roxburgh Trail. The choices are endless and we can help you choose how to spend your day. Wanaka, Queenstown and Arrowtown are just a short drive away, as are the skifields.
