Het Kabinet feels like how your own bedroom would feel if you set it up like a hotel room… and if you had great taste. Everything, from the wonderfully comfortable mattress to the handy appliances and excellent shower, completes a surprisingly cozy package that’ll make you actually hesitate to step outside. The owners have very obviously injected a healthy amount of love while bringing Het Kabinet to life, and their personalized touch is everywhere – it’s really very refreshing. We cannot overstate what a great location the beautiful De Pijp is. Het Kabinet is only a short walk away from a vast selection of cafés, restaurants and concept boutiques, in addition to the local market and, crucially, the tram service. It’s really the best base for an Amsterdam adventure that one could ask for.

De Pijp is made up for by the lively and eccentric people that grace its streets. Here academics continue to mingle with artists in countless cafés, and the flourishing nightlife continues to draw people from all over the city. De Pijp is perhaps most famous for the Albert Cyup Markt This market has been offering its wares for more than a century and vendors sell everything from fresh seafood, meat and cheese to flowers, clothes and jewellery. Stroll past the colourful stalls and sample the street food for a real Pijp experience. With its multitude of restaurants, cafés and bars, de Pijp will leave you spoiled for culinary choice. From Middle Eastern and North African cuisine to high-end Teppanyaki and Vietnamese street food, the neighbourhood’s cultural diversity shines through in its restaurants. Throw the area’s cocktail bars and beery brown cafés into the mix and you have a delicious evening planned! Beer fans also won't want to miss a tour of the former Heineken brewery, now better known as the Heineken Experience to get a taste of the area’s brewing history.
