Ardeen Villa, located in Ranna, Tangalle has direct access to the Kahandamodara beach 30 meters away. Built on an acre of prime beachfront land it has two large 42 sqm bedrooms with sea view and a family suite of 45 sqm. All rooms have AC and ensuites. The double rooms each have a king bed for 2. The family suite can accommodate up to 4 guests, ideally 2 kids and parents. The rooms lead to a large dining and lounge area with an indoor courtyard making it a feature adding class. On a full moon night turtles may be seen swimming ashore to lay their eggs outside the villa. Guests will carry back fond memories of this paradise making your stay better than expected. The villa has a large swimming pool with a shallow entry and the gardens are beautifully landscaped with fragrant frangipani, water lilies, mango and coconut trees and natural fauna and vegetation make it a hidden gem ensconced midst the serenity of nature. The lounge area provides a magnificent view of the ocean and pool. Meals can be taken indoors or outside in the cabana right on the beach or in the cabana near the BBQ. The furniture is traditional comfortable Sri Lankan with the walls adorned with original paintings of budding local artists. The staff quarters is 20 metres away on the premises. Guests staying 7 nights get a ( a) free airport pick up OR drop off travelling together (b) option of buying their own groceries using the chef services free of charge. Where this option is used the villa does not provide the free breakfast except the breakfast on the day after arrival. (c) a free boat tour to the popular Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary where over 60 species of bird life can be sighted (d) a free wash only laundry service (e) 10% discount on meals ordered off the menu. We arrange tours and transportation to all the places of interest. A 30 kva auto switchover generator is installed for power back up.

Lunch and dinner is priced from USD 8-14 per person per meal with vegetarian, kids, light lunches and snacks, soups, salads and deserts priced at USD 4-8. Breakfast is included in the room rates. The villa is ideal for one or two families or groups of 6. If required, two extra single beds can be provided in the family room. A fee of USD 35 per extra bed is payable. The villa is for the sole use of the resident guests. We do not sell liquor but guests can bring their own supplies for consumption. No charge for corkage. We recommend you bring your own favorite spirits and wines as they might not be readily available as well as more expensive. Sri Lankan beer and Rockland gin are made in Sri Lanka and very popular with our guests. Our staff are friendly but always respect your privacy. We have a resident manager on site who is available to assist you with your needs. If you need assistance with transport to the many attractions in the area, we arrange it with outside transport owners with special rates which you can avail yourself of. For those who want to be active inhouse, volleyball, beachball, badminton, angling, kite flying, walking tours, cycling, boat rides, fishing trips, canoeing, swimming, chess, card games, darts and other kids games will keep you busy. A wash only laundry service is available. Guests do their own ironing. A small charge of USD 50 cents per piece applies

For nature lovers there are many interesting sites to visit. A boat ride at the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary and the Kahandamodara lagoon 400 meters away is recommended. Over 60 species of birds nest in these waters. Day trips to the two largest and most famous game reserves, Yala and UdaWalawe can be undertaken from the villa. A drive to Yala takes 2 hours and Udawalawe 80 minutes where elephant, leopard, bear, deer, wild boar, crocodiles and other mammals and bird life can be sighted. The famous Bundala Bird Sanctuary is a 80 minute drive. Dolphin and whale watching is popular and transport can be arranged for a half day trip to these locations. The UNESCO listed Heritage City of Galle can be reached within an hour. There are a number of surf and bathing beaches nearby. Go to Unawatunne beach and swim with the turtles. Boat rides and fishing trips of interest to anglers are arranged. The eighteen hole International Golf Resort is a 20 minute drive. Turtle beach is a 15 minute drive where turtles are seen laying their eggs on the beach. The staff can arrange transportation for half day or day trips to these places with a picnic lunch provided. A day trip ( 2.5 hours) to the hill town of Ella famous for its waterfalls, tea plantations, nine arch railway bridge, trek to little Adams Peak and an exploration of the mountains and rolling valleys is a must. We provide free pick for stays of 7 nights for groups travelling together. For stays of10 nights we provide free pick up AND drop off to the airport. For less than 7 nights stays pick up or drop off can be arranged at reasonable rates. A visit to the local markets where the farmers display their fresh produce is interesting and educational. You will find an array of fresh fruits and vegetables and be educated on the herbs and plants that are used in ayurvedic medicine.
