Company information

We retired back home from our hotel in the UK and we relish the peace and quiet we get living here. Our house is located on a quiet road country road overlooking the sea. For social life we travel by car to local pubs and restaurants. We started doing B&B because we enjoy the company of people. We are lucky to get customers from all over the world coming to see the Wild Atlantic Way. Our main hobby is walking and we love the trails on the Burren. Our favourite walk is along the cliff edge from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher. Dining out in the local restaurants in Lahinch, Liscannor, Ennistymon and of course locally in Spanish Point and Miltown Malbay is a feature of our way of life. We love our local pubs, all of whom have traditional Irish music evenings. We look forward each year to the coming of the Willie Clancy festival to Miltown and the match making festival to Lisdoonvarna.

Property information

Our house was built in 2004 and looks like a bungalow but is quite large and has three floors. All rooms have private bathrooms and there is a residents lounge with an open fire in (winter). We live on a quiet road on the Wild Atlantic Way and views of Mutton Island and the Aran Islands can be seen from our lounge. In fine weather we can see the mountains called the Twelve Pins. We especially enjoy the spectacular views of the sunrise from the rear off the house and the sunset from the front. It is a very quiet area and is only two miles from the town of MIltown Malbay and 8 miles from Lahinch. The Cliffs of Moher is 14 miles away and the Burren is a further two miles away. Within two minutes away there are four different walks which give you a fantastic feeling of the Wild Atlantic and all its beauty. Sea fishing off the rocks is just a five minute walk or beach fishing is a ten minute walk and for fresh water fishing we have numerous rivers and lakes within a 15 minute drive. We have a patio area at the front of the house which is ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine and watching the world go by and a garden terrace at the rear of the house overlooking the countryside.

Neighbourhood information

Our neighbourhood is very peaceful, with the Atlantic opposite us and farmland around us, there is no one to disturb us. We look out on to the countryside at the back of our house and watch the animals in there natural habitat. We have a fox whose den is just by us and we watch as her cubs play in the back garden. Last year she had five. There are two beautiful beaches within a mile and we are so lucky to have the Armada and Bellbridge hotels just down the road. Also Redcliff Lodge restaurant and Coast Lodge bistro and wine bar gives us plenty of places to go and all are within walking distance. The Trump International golf course at Doonbeg was designed by Greg Norman is 6 miles south of us and the world famous Lahinch golf course is 8 miles north from us. The nine hole course at Spanish Point is a great test of accuracy and very affordable to play and is less than a mile away. The clubhouse holds singing and storytelling evenings during the Willie Clancy festival and should not be missed. Francis Kennedy from Kerry is a regular and is our favourite performer. The Catholic Church in Miltown Malbay is two miles away and the Church of Ireland in Spanish Point is one mile away.
