Hi, call me mas Tomo. "Mas" is a call for men in Javanese. I am an English teacher who lived in Jakarta for couple of years before I decided to return to my hometown and serve you at Genthong Homestay. As a teacher, I work really professional that I apply the professionality to manage Genthong Homestay. I learn a lot from hotels nearby. So, you will be served as living in the hotel but in more affordable price. As I teach from Monday to Saturday, my wife will be ready to help you explaining lots of tourism destination nearby. I will be glad to contact you and direct you to the destination the day before or catch me through text messages. I am really glad to have you at our homestay. I'll be ready to help your tour to Borobudur. Some packages are ready for you, VW tour, Jeep Tour, Cycling Tour, Andong Tour (a traditional cart pulled by horse), and walk tour. Car rental and drop off/pick up is also available. During the weekend, I might be able to take you strolling Borobudur area. For you food lovers, I have some destinations where you will find unforgettable local taste of Borobudur.

Genthong homestay is hosted by the local and it is located at the heart of Borobudur village. It has 2 units of deluxe room, 2 units of standard room and 1 unit of dormitory 4 beds room. The deluxe room was built with exposed brick for the wall. It provides warm and cozy environment. The front terrace has garden view with some tropical fruits, rambutan, starfruits, jackfruit, mango and durian. You may pick the fruits for free. The standard room was decorated with stones for the wall. The stones similar to Borobudur temple for it was taken from Elo and Progo river. The two local rivers nearby Borobudur temple. Across the room you will find patio with some local snacks. Dormitory room was built next to the vegetable garden. You will see fresh veggies on your window every morning. There is also a small pond next to the entrance that you may sit and find relaxing place for reading or else. Find the comfortable and excitement living near Borobudur temple with Genthong Homestay.

Neighbourhood information

Genthong Homestay is localted in Ngaran village. It is the opposite of Borobudur temple. It takes 10 minutes walk to the Borobudur Temple main gate from Genthong Homestay. The neighborhood are nice and welcome the guests. If you are lucky, you are able to join their occassion. Borobudur has many destinations other than the Borobudur temple, such as Mendut temple (3 km from Genthong Homestay) and Pawon temple (1 km from Genthong Homestay. If you are sunrise catcher, Bukit Rhema and Punthuk Setumbu will be best for you. Svargabumi (1km) gives you experience the local farmers planting rice and good photoshoot at the rice field. There are also some local activities that you can experience. You can visit Batik maker, tofu and tempe producers, mushroom farm, learning gemelan (Javanese traditional music instrument) and many more. Don't hesitate to text us for your need.
