The Yurt was in a great spot, right next to the shop and overlooking an attractive garden. The Yurt was nicely and authentically styled with plenty of useful items and a lovely wood fire. There was great outdoor furniture, crockery and blankets....

Gigha is worth so much more than quickly nipping across from the mainland for a few hours and if you decide to make a few days of it then the Yurt could be for you. It’s really cozy when that little stove gets going and perhaps strangely one of my...

Unique accomodation on Gigha - all in all a great glamping experience. Perfectly situated near ferry, restaurant, bike hire and shop. Very friendly and helpful hosts. It was our second time at the yurt and very very very happy yet again.

Joe and Hannah's yurt was located by the main intersection in the center of Gigha, behind their shop and The Nook (Joe himself is also a talented chef!). I stayed four nights and it was the perfect homebase for me to explore the island on bike....

The Space This 6m diameter handcrafted Mongolian Yurt is off-grid and the only glamping style accommodation on the Island. We have 1 double futon and 2 single futons sleeping 4 in total. All the beds fold up easily for ample seating through the day. A central wood burning stove will ensure a cozy stay even if the weather takes a turn. A dinner table, chairs and 2 traditional Mongolian chests complete the furniture. PLEASE BE AWARE, GUESTS SHOULD BRING THEIR OWN TOWELS, SHEETS, BEDDING AND PILLOWS. THESE ARE NOT PROVIDED. Guest Access Guests will have access to all crockery, cutlery, pots/pans and glasses. A small gas stove is available to supplement the large BBQ grill for cooking outside. We provide a small supply of logs for the wood burning stove. Separate to the Yurt is a newly refurbished toilet and shower facility and a large outdoor stainless steel sink unit for washing up. Guests have access to the whole garden and any eggs our small flock of chickens can provide. Interaction with Guests We live in the adjacent house and both work in our shop, the only one on the Island also next door.
The Isle of Gigha, a small island off the west coast of Kintyre and part of Argyll and Bute is accessible by ferry departing from Tayinloan on the west coast of the Kintyre peninsula with a journey of around 20 minutes.
