We are a holiday cottage agency based in the North Pennines, with around 30 beautiful cottages to chose from set between Weardale in County Durham all the way to Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland. Most of our cottages accept pets, we can offer private fishing too with certain properties. You can visit us on our website.

The Boat House is a newly built extension to our house with 1st floor spacious, modern apartment above where we keep our 1950s clinker built National 12 Sailing Boat. The apartment sleeps 2 comfortably in 2 singles which can be pushed together. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer. Open plan living space overlooking the village green with living dining and sleeping areas & private shower room. Pets welcome - dog crate (upon request) towels, bowl & treats provided . Free parking and walks from the door. Stylish local pub The Kirkstyle Inn is 5 minutes away serving delicious local foods.

Neighbourhood information

Slaggyford is a peaceful village set in South Northumberland and the Boat House overlooks the large village green and Pennine Way. The village is sheltered in the bottom of the valley with stunning 360° scenery of purple heather topped fells and the river Tyne offering amazing walks including the Pennine Way, cycling and riding the steam train from the Slaggyford station. Only 40 minutes from the Lake District, Scotland and Hadrians Wall with Roman Forts on the doorstep a stay in this quiet unspoilt country side location is a must. We look forward to hosting you You can access the area easily by car (private parking available). There is a steam train from the village which runs to Alston where there are a selection of gift shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Mainline trains from Haltwhistle (10 mins drive away) which go to Newcastle and Carlisle. Newcastle airport 50 mins drive. A cycle track runs through the village from Alston to Haltwhistle and the Pennine Way runs past the door. Dog walking is straight form the door onto the village green and the Pennine Way, parking is available in front of the garage.
