About this property

In the heart of the New Forest sits our beautiful Victorian home, boasting 6 en-suite bedrooms just a few minutes’ walk from the popular village of Lyndhurst. We are incredibly lucky to have direct access to the forest via a gate just across the road. You will find freely wandering new forest ponies, donkeys and tame cattle among breath taking scenery. We have retained many of the stunning Victorian features including high ceilings, period fireplaces and stained-glass windows. Each room is en-suite and has amenities such as towels, tea/coffee making facilities, hand and body wash, a TV and a hair dryer. Situated at the back of the house we have an off-road car park with space for one car per room. We have a dining area on the ground floor that we use to offer our optional delicious cooked breakfasts along with freshly ground coffee to prepare you for your day. If your opt for room only, there are still several options available within walking distance in Lyndhurst town.

Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.8 for a two-person trip.

Neighbourhood information

Known as the ‘capital’ of The New Forest, Lyndhurst is a charming village with lots of independent and delightful shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs. With nearby hamlets of Bank, Emery Down and Swan Green, you are sure to enjoy all the delights that our exciting bustling village life has to offer. Forest Side Guesthouse is proudly positioned opposite Bolten’s Bench, Lyndhurst’s celebrated local landmark and picturesque yew capped hillock. Here the giant yew tree delights in views over towards the centre of the village and the open forest beyond. Bolten’s Bench, which according to local folklore, was originally the corpse of a dragon slayed by a valiant knight, attracts many visitors who affectionately splendour in the delights of the New Forest ponies, donkeys and cattle grazing on the open lawns. It is fair to say that the true pleasure of the New Forest is simply ‘being’ in the moment, among the freely roaming ponies, cattle, donkeys and deer. If existing in nature is what you are looking for, then the New Forest has everything that you could ask for and with over 140 miles of tracks to explore, the New Forest truly is a tranquil haven.
