The rooms were very cosy. The outdoor space was very nice for having breakfast in. Everything is beautifully decorated. We liked that the TV had a few apps so that you could play films on quieter evenings.

Tucked away in the heart of St Ives just metres from its pretty harbour and seafront, Saffron Cottage is a hidden gem. One of just a few properties in the town’s 15th Century Academy Place, the cottage nestles in blissful obscurity behind Fore Street’s boutiques, bakeries and cafes. There are no street-facing windows or clues to its existence other than an inconspicuous set of steps running between two shops, so for guests who love the idea of being away from it all yet close to the beach and the town's terrific restaurants, it’s simply perfect. Once inside, you’ll feel immediately welcomed into a cosy space awash with period features and comfortable furnishings. Low beamed ceilings and exposed dry-stone walls in the living area nod to the building’s age and heritage, while the two upper floor bedrooms create bright and airy sanctuaries for relaxation and sleep. To access the cottage guests will need to climb 13 steps which may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
