The location of the property is remote with beautiful scenery all around. With a car you are well placed to travel to the local areas. I would advise doing a trip to the local shops for groceries first before getting to the property so that you...

The cottage itself was lovely, modern, had amenities to make your stay comfortable. Neighbours friendly. Do make sure you do food shop before you arrive. Make sure you do some star gazing in the quarry on a clear night.

We really liked the location of this property because it was in a beautiful valley with wonderful views. The remoteness was really enjoyable. It was great to stay in a property of slate construction. All the rooms were well proportioned,...

It was a typical small cottage - which had a lively cosy feel. It had all the equipment needed for a comfortable stay - the stairs are a little steep though, so worth baring that in mind

Pen y Cwm is a cosy 1870’s terraced miner’s cottage, with contemporary styling in a beautiful, peaceful setting with waterfalls, caves and forest close by. Situated within the Snowdonia National Park, you will be within a short drive of major attractions such as Zip World, Surf Snowdonia and Go Below which has a site located just a short walk from the property! Mount Snowdon’s Pen y Pass car park is a 30minute drive away. Beaches at Harlech, Criccieth, Llandudno all with 45mins to an hour. We also welcome guests with dogs but limit this to two dogs per stay, the cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and farming land to explore.
Both of us love the outdoors and sport, hence why we've loved the opportunity to host in North Wales. When we stay we love the chance to walk from the cottage and also enjoy the beautiful areas around the cottage, as well as all the brilliant activities on our doorstep.
A car is pretty essential but it is possible to phone for a bus to come and collect you to take you to Betws y Coed. Straight from the cottage you can explore local mines and hills that surround the cottage, or walk the path to Penmachno where you can enjoy the local pub and shop.
