A friendly and accommodating family run B & B located in the hamlet of Yawl, Nettle Bank provides an informal home from home atmosphere. We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible, guests are welcome to relax in the tranquil gardens and enjoy the uninterrupted views of Trinity Hill an area of outstanding natural beauty. Located in a quiet lane, off road parking is available. There are many reasons to visit Nettle Bank, we are located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and have quite impressive views with wonderful sunsets. We are a 5 minute drive from River Cottage, River Cottage is located in a rural position with no transport links. We are one of the closest accommodation providers. More than happy to arrange taxis to River Cottage events, we would recommend that this is arrange in advance as there are few taxi companies available! A dining discount can be arranged if you dine at River Cottage Kitchen. Exeter airport is a 40 minute drive. Axminster train station is 3 miles away and easily reached by car or public transport. Bus stop is a 9 minute walk. We are open all year round. Please don't hesitate to ask about any special requirements that you may have.
We love where we live and love sharing our place with you. We have been offering bed and breakfast accommodation for 12 years now since we moved here in search of the good life! We enjoy summer time in Lyme Regis, we are so lucky to have a traditional seaside town on our door step but it offers more we have a local theatre with a full program, other events include Guitars on the beach each year, we have the British record but again this year there will be an attempt at the world record, Lifeboat week, Carnival week, Jazz festival, fossil festival, a couple of weekly artfests where local artists open their homes for you to view their work. Winter is good too, quieter but still there are visitors, I am a trustee for a local charity that enables local folk to live and integrate in our community. I am secretary of our darts league and captain of our local pub team, we are never top of the league but enjoy our social time!
We are ideally located for a trip to River Cottage HQ only a 45 minute walk through beautiful countryside, the views are spectacular! or we are happy to a arrange a taxi for you, only 5 minutes away. Dining events and cookery courses are available on their website. River Cottage Kitchen is less than 3 miles away. Relax on the beach, take a walk around Lyme Regis or visit one of the many local attractions. There are many local walks and we have plenty of OS maps available to loan if needed. The seafront is less than 10 minutes in the car or a 45 minute walk - depending on how fast you walk! Two excellent pub restaurants the Talbot Arms and the Hunters Lodge are within walking distance (approx. one mile away). Further restaurants can be found in the centre of Lyme Regis, Charmouth and local villages all within 3 miles. A local convenience store and petrol station are located in the village of Uplyme, one mile away. Search for fossils, take a fishing trip, how about a tram ride and travel through the Seaton Wetlands to Colyton.
