A converted 17th Century barn we are a short distance from the bustling market town of Keswick and the spectacular Borrowdale Valley. We are ideally placed to explore the many attractions and natural beauty of the area, whether hiking, cycling, tackling more adventurous activities or simply sightseeing. We have two spacious, newly furnished en-suite bedrooms providing a perfect base to explore the lakes from. With a full breakfast served between 8:30 and 10:00 am in our dining area the day can start as eagerly or leisurely as you wish.
We have over 25 years of experience owning and managing Hotels and Bed & Breakfasts in the Lake District so know the area very well. Offering help and guidance where needed we hope to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Keswick and the Northern Lakes must be one of the most dramatic landscapes in Britain with its spectacular array of mountains all in such a compact area. Close at hand are the four highest mountains in England, over 3000 feet high. The Scafells, with their rugged outlines of volcanic rock dominate the central area while Helvellyn and Skiddaw's smoother slopes reflect the softer geology. These form an impressive background to the no less spectacular lower hills, or fells, and the beautiful valleys with their lakes below. The heart of Keswick is the Market Square with no cars in the pedestrianised area which makes for a very pleasant shopping experience. In the centre of the Market Square is The Moot Hall, home to the Lake District National Park Tourist Information Centre and an excellent starting point for planning your adventures. Though only a small town, Keswick has a range of shops and services far larger than might be expected. You can find lots of lovely shops both in the main Market Square and down every alley and side street.
