Hi - my name is Rosamund (or Ros) and I am new to the island - but not to hosting. We have been hosting holiday apartments for over 10 years in London, until we visited the Isle of Wight recently, fell in love and a new venture was born! Clarence House was only the 2 house viewed, after which no more houses were necessary....it was featured on the BBC's Escape to the Country as a dream home on the Isle of Wight and we feel so privileged to be its new owners. As seasoned travellers we understand the importance of arriving to a spotless apartment, fresh crisp sheets and a hot shower, Not to mention reliable wifi. Rosamund tried out the apartments as a paying guest first, to see how her potential guests would feel waking up in them. Our aim is to provide the exact same first class service that Marion offered. If there is anything missing please do not hesitate to let us know.

As featured recently on Escape to the Country! A stay at Clarence House Apartments is unique. We are ideally located near beaches,Shanklin train station, shops, amusements and many amenities. Each apartments has been sensitively refurbished with bi-fold doors opening onto a beautiful south facing garden and private patio area, with views of the downs to allowing alfresco dining. For cyclists there is a bike shed to store your bikes safely overnight. All apartments have free WiFi access, a fully equipped kitchen plus bath and shower room. The Alexandra Apartment is two bedroom with a sofa bed in the lounge to allow more sleeping. The Charlotte Apartment is one bedroom and also has additional sleeping in the lounge area. Clarence House Cottage has now been totally refurbished with a new kitchen and bathroom. It has one bedroom with a King Size bed and television. and french doors to the large private decking area. Open plan feel in lounge area.This also has WiFi and Freeview television. The kitchen is equipped with new oven, microwave and fridge and small freezer Large groups can book a combination of apartments and Alexandra and Charlotte Apartments can be interlinked

Neighbourhood information

The beautiful Isle of Wight and Shanklin in particular are perfect for the outdoor lover, brilliant cycling and running routes, with spectacular coastal walks for ramblers or casual strolls. Visit Shanklin Chine and the beautiful Old Shanklin village including their fantastic safe and sandy beaches. The location also has easy access to the Downs and coastal paths making it perfectly positioned for cyclists, walkers and all entertainments . There are fascinating independent coffee shops, antique and curio places to explore, the independent Shanklin theatre and many nearby villages to explore each with their own character. Easy access to quirky Ventnor, the Needles, Cowes, Blankgang Chine and the island's capital Newport. How about arriving by train? Shanklin Railway Station is easy walking distance and has fantastic connections to London Waterloo, with over two trains per hour. Even without a car there are numerous regular buses through Shanklin with picturesque journeys across the island.
