Four Seasons Guesthouse (formerly Four Seasons B&B) offers high quality, warm and welcoming accommodation in large spacious rooms in a Victorian villa. We offer rooms on a room only basis as there are a fine selection places where you can get breakfast within the village with its six pubs, five cafes and tea rooms. All within a five minute walk of our front door. We have two fabulous en-suite rooms each with Superking size bed as standard which can be split into two single beds . Room 1 also has plenty of room to accommodate two extra fold down single beds upon request to form a Triple or Family room . Both our rooms have a modern en-suite shower room. The rooms have a refrigerator, an excellent Nespresso coffee pod machine, Hot Water Dispenser and high quality Teas and Coffee's, hot chocolate and biscuits. High quality linen and towels are provided. We are in the village of Castleton, probably the most visited of the northern Peak Districts villages. Castleton is famous for Peveril Castle, Peak Cavern, Blue John Cavern, Treak cliff and Speedwell caverns. You can walk in some of Britains best countryside right from the door.
As Hosts we like to offer a great personalised service to our guests and really emphasise being welcoming and helpful. The Guesthouse is also our family home and we are generally on hand to help with any guest queries. We are keen cyclists and walkers and know the area really well, having lived here for the last 15 years. We are happy to recommend places to eat and drink, spend the day or give advice on routes for all abilities.
Castleton is well known for its fantastic scenery and huge number of walking and cycling routes. It has four show caverns within the locality and a Norman Castle perched on a hilltop overlooking the village. Nearby there are two stunning reservoirs at Ladybower and Derwent (where the RAF practiced for the famous Dambusters Raid in the 1940's). You can hire bikes here or stroll around the reservoirs to see the amazing engineering of the dams. Chatsworth House, one of Britains premier stately homes, is a 30 minute car ride away and Haddon Hall and Lyme Park are also within easy reach. Castleton itself offers 7 pubs and a restaurant with numerous cafe's all within a five minute walk of the guesthouse. The Monsal Trail and Tissington and High Peak Trails`offer great cycling to anyone who wants to avoid the hils or just want a leisurely stroll with some good cafe's en route.
