Breakfast is served in a basket and brought to your room. We both enjoyed the breakfasts. The room was very comfy and the facilities good. There is no TV, but that wasn't a problem. The WiFi was generally good but went a little wobbly on one...

Nous avons été reçu comme à la maison par la super famille qui tient le Lodge. Le petit déjeuner était excellent, et la vue depuis la fenêtre imprenable. Idéal pour un moment de calme au bout du monde (et d'Islay).

Burnside Lodge is a two-room bed and breakfast located in the quiet village of Port Wemyss on the South Western tip of the Isle of Islay. While parts of the house are nearly as old as the village itself, the guest rooms in the newer part both have double aspect views of the Rhinns lighthouse designed and built by Robert Stevenson in 1825. The island of Orsay seen from the windows is the year-round home to the local population of common and grey seals, who can be heard singing across the water on calm days. Please note: Burnside Lodge is not suitable unless you have your own transport (two wheels or four) due to the remote (but beautiful) location. Find us on Twitter, Instagram (@IslayBaker) or Facebook to see what's on!
For evening meals -The local Pub in Portnahaven serves food most nights plus 7 miles away in Port Charlotte there are several options, The Port Charlotte Hotel and The Loch Indaal Hotel amongst them, please see our website for links. There is also lots of information on events and attractions on Islay to be found at Islayinfo
