Aviemore Glenlivet Lodge is the place we spend our holidays, in the amazing Scottish Highlands, and particularly Aviemore and the surrounding area where there is just so much to do, summer and winter. We chose our house because it backs on to the Strathspey Steam Railway - a heritage railway which runs throughout the summer, and part of winter, and is literally over the fence - train spotting children (and our trainspotting dog!) love it. Our house is comfy and conveniently located - a great base to return to after a day of fun activities.
There is so much to do in and around Aviemore, from skiing (when weather permits) to hillwalking to fun activities for young and old alike. When our kids were younger, much time was spent at Landmark in Carrbridge, which is a 10 minute drive (and they now have a dinosaur world!). The steam train is a firm favourite (and runs at the back of the house!). We love fishing at the fish farm, walks round Loch an Eilein, lunch at the Speyside Centre, visits to the Highland Wildlife Park, coffee and lunch in the many dog-friendly cafes and restaurants and going further afield to Inverness and Nairn.
