Whether you are two people on a romantic break, or forty-eight friends reconnecting, we have accommodation to suit your needs, and all options are available with a hearty house breakfast (including freshly made crepes, of course!). Come and spend an evening with us at the Auberge and sample Alain’s signature dish and local delicacy, Kig Ha Farz, and walk back to the comfort of your room by the light of the moon and the peace of the countryside! The Puits de Jeanne is perfectly located for exploring the Bay of Morlaix, the Pink Granite Coast and local moorland, the Monts d’Arée, as well as Armorique National Park, Taureau Castle, Batz Island, Huelgoat Forest, and the towns of Guerlesquin, Carantec, Roscoff and Lannion.
At Le Puits de Jeanne we would like to invite you to sample our range of local and traditional culinary delights in a calm and authentic rural setting. Whether you are a fine dining connoisseur or a keen traditional chef yourself, come down to the auberge and discover Alain’s signature dish... Kig Ha Farz (a regional speciality). A dish that he’s so skilled at preparing, French TV chef Cyril Lignac recently came to the auberge to learn how it was done! Or, during the summer, why not treat yourself to one (...or two) of Mireille’s famous crepes, best enjoyed with a bowl of our home made cider. If you’re still not quite full enough, or if you know someone who would appreciate a surprise from Brittany, why not take a jar of Kig Ha Farz, the regional dish of North Finistere, available, alongside many other local delights, in Jeanne’s Boutique.
Le Puits de Jeanne, translated literally, means Jeanne’s Well. So, who is Jeanne? And what about her well? Well... Above all else, Le Puits de Jeanne isn’t just a restaurant, or a business, it’s the rich and detailed story of a family, a clan and a tribe, and it dates back a long way. At the dawn of the twentieth century, Jeanne, Mireille’s great grandmother arrived, with all of her worldly possessions, to this small corner of Brittany. Given that the family has been here ever since, they decided to commemorate Jeanne by naming the site after her. There’s something slightly peculiar about the big building that perches above the small village of Le Ponthou, which now serves as our restaurant. It contains an indoor well! The well would have been an incredibly important part of the farm during Jeanne’s day, so it seemed fitting to give it centre stage within our auberge, and indeed, our business as it exists today.
