Featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and views of pool, Le Grand Chemin de La Vie is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Montcaret, 38 km from Bergerac Train Station. Irish Lily and English David warmly welcome you to their quaint and charming converted stone farmhouse set in a spacious garden with swimming pool and bordering neighbouring vineyards. Character features from the original dwelling are still evident today.

Our Chambres d'hotes offers our guests 4 well appointed bedrooms. The Burgundy room is our largest superior triple guest room boasting a four poster bed and featuring a rain shower with his and hers basins in the ensuite. This room also commands stunning views over the rear garden, pool and bordering vineyards. Our second largest room is the Merlot, also a triple room to the front of the house with a large ensuite bathroom with bath and shower over. The third room on the first floor and to the rear of the property with views over the garden, is our twin Chablis room providing two single beds and a very small ensuite shower room. The fourth guest room is our Champagne room which is a double room on the ground floor at the rear of the property with adjacent wet shower room suitable for guests with limited mobility.

Our Chambres d’hotes provides the perfect base to explore all that this beautiful area of the Dordogne region has to offer such as the numerous nearby vineyards, medieval villages and chateaux. Enjoy activities such as river cruises, canoe drifting, kayaking, water parks, cycling, horse riding or visit the amazing local markets which offer a vast array of home produced foods with some also providing live music entertainment. Of course on our doorstep, you will find the Montcaret Archaeological site with an 11th Century Church and the Michael de Montaigne Tower and gardens. We are also conveniently located for guests attending a wedding in one of the many nearby chateaux such as Chateau Soulac, Chateau Rigaud, Chateau Viex, Chateau de San, Chateau Tourbeille, Chateau La Riviere and Chateau Carboneau.
