The Sonnegg guest house is a special place at 1000 metres above sea level, located in the small village Heiligenschwendi above Thun. Our terrace and the south-facing rooms offer a marvellous view of Lake Thun and the Bernese Alps. At this place, often above the clouds, situated between forests and mountains, the beauty and creativity of our Creator is visible, almost reachable. It is our wish, that our Guests may have an encounter with this Creator and be able to rest and regenerate. The rooms are cosy and simply furnished, we deliberately do not offer media such as TV or daily newspapers. All rooms are equipped with a tap and sink. Showers and toilets are located on the same floor for shared use. Our guests have access to a lounge with a library and free use of instruments (piano and guitar). In the morning, we offer a (of course voluntary) short spiritual input. We are a member of the VCH (Association of Christian Hotels). We cook fresh, seasonal and regional meals. Thanks to its excellent cuisine, the restaurant is also a popular place among locals. In addition to half board, our guests have the option of dining à la carte on Friday and Saturday evenings. Please note the opening hours of the restaurant. There are a lot of hiking and walking trails around the village of Heiligenschwendi. Benches invite to relax and enjoy the nature and view. Thun is worth a visit due to its culture, history, the old town and the castle. It also offers shopping, a lido and promenades along the beautiful Lake Thun. Excursions to the surrounding mountains or to Interlaken are just a stone's throw away. The Sonnegg team strives to make your stay something special. We look forward to your reservation.
