Property information

Haus Whymper is located in the village center of Zermatt. The apartment building is very modern and is situated in a sunny position. In the house, there is a lift and a ski room where you can store your ski equipment. There are only non-smoking apartments and pets are not allowed. Right in the middle of Zermatt Haus Whymper takes you directly into the everyday life of the people living in Zermatt and the life of the tourists. When you book a holiday apartment in Haus Whymper, you have the shops, bars and restaurants almost on your doorstep. The lively Bahnhofstrasse is only 2 minutes away on foot. About 150 meters from the house is the stop for the Gornergrat Paradise, a popular ski and hiking area in Zermatt. You can reach it on foot in about 5 minutes. In less than 5 minutes you can also go to the bus stop for the ski bus, which takes you to the ski lifts of the other ski areas. Due to the very central location in the village center, the noise is sometimes a little higher. Not so high that it would bother, but the apartment is not in a quiet area. Nearby are sports courts for tennis and hockey and some children’s playgrounds. In April, the music festival «Zermatt Unplugged» takes place in the immediate vicinity, which significantly increases the noise level. Wellness in a 4-star hotel Haus Whymper is connected to the 4-star plus hotel Schweizerhof by a tunnel and guests are allowed to use the spa and pool. Please note that the facilities are only available during hotel opening hours. This is from mid-December to mid-April and from mid-July to the end of August. During the low season, the facility is closed and therefore cannot be used.

Neighbourhood information

Please note that due to the very central location and the proximity to the sports fields (tennis/ice hockey) and the children's playgrounds next to the house, there may be some background noise. The ‘Zermatt Unplugged’ music festival is also organised in the immediate vicinity for approx. 2 weeks in April. Our guests also have access to an exclusive wellness centre and a large pool where they can really relax after a strenuous day in the Zermatt mountains. This facility is located in the 4-star plus Hotel Schweizerhof and is connected to the Whymper House by a tunnel and is only open and available during the hotel's opening hours. Open approx. mid-December - mid-April and mid-July - end of August. During the low season this complex is closed. All flats are non-smoking and pets are not allowed.
