Get away to a genuine bush and beach experience in Agnes Water, with access to the Great Barrier Reef. The 4-bedroom Aussie home has polished boards, with parts of the house dating back to the 1900s, and is set on 4 cleared acres just a few minutes' drive from surf and swimming beaches, national parks, supermarkets, boutiques, cafes and the local tavern / pub. - 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen, outdoor dining with barbeque - Free unlimited WiFi, Smart TV + Prime subscription - 2 reverse-cycle air-conditioners / heaters, plus fans in each room - Washing machine and tumble dryer - Games and books - All linen, towels and bedding provided - Pet friendly While you're here enjoy: - Cruises to the Great Barrier Reef southernmost islands - Surfing (it's the last Point Break north of Brisbane because the start of the Great Barrier Reef means no surf beach after this). There are several surf schools for all skill levels - Snorkelling and scuba diving - Fishing - Canoeing, paddle-boarding - Walking, hiking - Four-wheel-driving in two fabulous National Parks just five minutes' drive from Yellow Cottage - the stunning Deepwater and Eurimbula National Parks. More beautiful beaches are found off these beaten tracks - There are stylish boutiques, great eateries and a local pub just down the road. - If you enjoy golf, there is a course just a short drive from the cottage, and regular barefoot bowls is held at the Bowls Club. A choice of beaches are just minutes away. The "point break" surf beach is 6km down the road at Agnes Water (top recommendation: get up around 6am to watch the surfers ride the waves in the early morning sun - simply amazing). The calm bay of Seventeen Seven (so picturesque and perfect for just lazing, and safe for children) is a further 6km on. And don't forget to check out the monument to Captain Cook. PLUS: The night skies at Yellow Cottage are amazing and the sunsets at 1770 are truly memorable. Relax!
We welcome groups, families, couples, overseas visitors and anyone who wants to relax and enjoy this beautiful area, which is where Captain James Cook landed in 1770. There's a lot to enjoy in the area, and Yellow Cottage offers gentle Aussie bush charm and homely comforts. Along with bush charm (four acres with loads of birdlife, big trees and two dams) we provide modern comforts including quality beds (two queen, two single) with linen and bedding included, free unlimited WiFi, a Smart TV with Prime subscription, comfortable seating including recliners, and two bathrooms. We provide games, books and a verandah with barbeque, and shops and fabulous beaches are just a five-minute drive away. So if you are looking for a home-from-home, place to base yourself while enjoying surfing, fishing, off-roading or snorkelling / diving, or just want a romantic getaway close to everything but away from the crowds, this is for you. There are big trees, big skies and kangaroos and kookaburras that call it home. Just a five-minute drive is Agnes Main beach, which is the last "point break" for surfers north of Brisbane. (Top recommendation: get up around 6am to watch the surfers ride the waves in the early morning sun - simply amazing). The calm bay of Seventeen Seven (so picturesque and perfect for just lazing, and safe for children) is a further 6km on. It offers beautiful sunsets from the rocks, or local bar. Enjoy fishing, snorkelling, diving, paddle-boarding, canoeing, surfing (there are surf schools for both adults and children), hire a scooter - or just laze around on the beach or in the sea. The water's lovely here. The Captain Cook monument is worth a visit, and is free! In fact, so much of what makes Agnes Water / 1770 perfect IS free, including the beaches, two national parks, walking trails and of course, the regular Rotary Club markets held at the SES grounds. Come and Rest, Relax, Enjoy!
Yellow Cottage is set on a cleared acreage with easy access to beautiful beaches, shops, boutiques and more in Agnes Water. The township has a hairdresser, doctor, dentists and, of course, a choice of eateries and the local pub. There are surf schools, bikes for hire, wonderful beaches and great eateries, including the local pub (tavern). The cottage is a short five-minute drive to shops (including supermarkets and petrol station), boutiques, hairdresser, spas and eateries. There are boutiques and gift shops in Agnes Water, as well as supermarkets, a butcher, baker and two bottle shops. A golf course is five minutes' drive from the cottage, and regular barefoot bowls is held at the Bowls Club. Cruise boats run to the beautiful Lady Musgrave Island - the southernmost point of the Great Barrier Reef. The stunning Deepwater and Eurimbula National Parks are nearby, if you like four-wheel-driving. While you are at Yellow Cottage, take the time to enjoy the night skies, which are amazing.
