We live in a two story home on acreage, 40 minutes west of Brisbane City. We can offer three bedrooms, two with double beds and their own bathroom, and one smaller bedroom with a single bed. We have a log fire in the lounge room for conversation and relaxing. Our home is air-conditioned. There is a media room with a home theatre set-up to enjoy music or movies. We have an outdoor swimming pool for those hot days & barbecue facilities for those summer evenings. Our home is centrally located for visiting a wide range of areas. Grocery shopping, eateries, coffee shops, fuel are just 5 minutes away at the local Shopping Centre. There is no public transport, so guests would require their own private vehicle or hire car, however we are only 15 minutes from Ipswich City and railway station. Guests could be transferred to or from the rail station if required.
My wife Robyn and I (Ken) are very friendly and like making new friends. We enjoy a glass of wine, movies, travel and family functions. We are non-smokers but have no problems with guests smoking outdoors. We ask that guest respect our property, as we will respect theirs. Illegal drugs will not be tolerated at all. Breakfast is provided in a relaxed atmosphere where many stories have been told, and lots of laughs and information have been forthcoming. Guests are not expected to stay in their rooms the whole but are invited to feel comfortable and relaxed out in the Patio next to the Pool.
Ipswich is Queenslands oldest provincial City . In 1827 it was a convict settlement established to quarry limestone for Brisbane's stone buildings. Its charm lies in its historic old buildings, and is 10 minutes away. Toowoomba, known as the "Garden City" is perched on the rim of the Great Dividing Range, and only an hours drive through the rural Lockyer Valley. The Gold Coast, Australia's Playground, is home to our best surf beaches, & Theme parks, also one hour's drive. Brisbane, our Capital city, is a beautiful city and has the Brisbane River meandering through it. It's only 40 mins by train. Enjoy wandering through South Bank Parklands and explore it's many eateries and walkways. When you get tired, you can hop on one of the River Cats and cruise down the river.
