Everything about the property was amazing right through to our host having bread, butter and milk in the fridge for us and tea and coffee. The property was so quiet and stocked with fire wood so we could have the fire going the whole time off...

Gayle& Glen. Co manage Jess does a great job preparing the cottage for guests
Amiens Cottage was built for returned soldiers of WW1. It has kept many features of this era including polished wooden floors, tongue and groove walls, daisy glass in doors, and beautiful fretwork above doors. These combined with modern facilities, including a large deck, air conditioning and spacious modern kitchen, make this a lovely place to stay. Easy stroll into High Street with cafes, restaurants and streetscape. Soldiers memorial and Mt Marlay are within walking distance. Bike and hiking trails can be found at Mt Marlay as well as beautiful sunsets. Wine tours available to visit award winning wineries, as well as bike hire! Please find on tea trolley a selection of coffee pods, hot chocolate and both a variety of tea bags and leaf tea on rack beside teapot. There are many brochures showcasing wineries, restaurants and numerous activities occuring in the Granite Belt. We hope you enjoy your time in Stanthorpe and return soon.
Gayle and Glen are the hosts and welcome you to our lovely historical Federation cottage. The garden is interesting with the changing seasons, cold climate plants, and bird life which contribute to make gardening very enjoyable. There is something special about the cottage, and it is a pleasure being part of its historical journey and sharing it with guests.
Located on the high part of town, Amiens Cottage is close to Soldiers Memorial where stunning sunsets can be observed. Mt Marlay is also close with its bikes tracks and viewing areas. From the house. a 50 metre short walk will take you over the unused railway tracks( except for the very occasionally tourist train) into town with its many cafes, historical buildings, culture and vibrancy attached to the many festivals.
