Chaltén Camp – Barefoot luxury in the heart of Patagonia Tucked away in a secret corner of the Patagonian forest, Chaltén Camp is not just accommodation — it's a remote exploration base. Chaltén Camp is located on the outer edges of El Chaltén, immersed in a native lenga forest, between the winding Río de las Vueltas and a towering granite wall. Far from the town’s lights and noise, it offers a rare sense of remoteness — yet it’s only a 15-minute drive or a scenic 40-minute walk from the center. We are the only lodging on the river’s right bank, in a land steeped in history. Just steps away is the former home of Andreas Madsen, one of the region’s first settlers. Now a museum, his house offers a glimpse into the life of a man who chose to inhabit the remote and the unknown. This is not a neighborhood in the usual sense. It’s a frontier. A place where nature prevails, where silence and wind speak, and every path invites exploration.
