It’s hard to describe how amazing this place is. At the moment I arrived, I knew I chose the best hostel. The energy, the people, the staff… Everything made my experience unforgettable. 🫶 The hostel is very clean and cozy. The rooms are big and the bed sssoo comfortable, the garden it’s just amazing and the breakfast made my days start great. Also the garden is connected to the restaurant Taberna so you can just chill there having a drink or try the famous “patatas bravas”. The worst about this places is that it’s very hard to leave the hostel because you feel like at home. If I came back to São Miguel, I would definitely come back to Out of the Blue! Muito obrigada, até breve. 💖

A grand joy to arrive into this welcoming oasis in Ponta Delgada, I got greeted by kind people who were genuinly interested in me, a rare bijou in these lands - you are far more then a customer. You are home. Easygoing, I had the opportunity to rest and be by myself, drink a coffee or play the guitar in the hammocks, or I could indulge in the cosy socialness of thought-through activities like surfing or a three-course meal by an amazing cook who brings some vegetables from his own garden. I´ts a well balanced atmosphere of community and down to earth-service. Every person who worked at this place was very loving and well-meaning people who´d Id wanted to talk more to, it was just too much fun stuff to do. And the beach is just a free electric bicycle-ride away rolling down the hills. Oh! And the BEDS were the best on the island (- and I´ve been to quite many.)

The host who is operating the hostel is incredibly nice. He is always reachable and helps with anything - even unrelated issues. He makes it a cozy and homy atmosphere. The kitchen is also very well equipped with everything you need to cook a good meal. The beds are comfy and you can always ask for fresh sheets or a towel. Even though Jose doesn't speak English, he is very kind in communicating with hands and feet and making everything work. Also he is so kind with breakfast. He bakes a cake twice a week and prepares everything so nicely.
