Hostels in Bacalar

Everything about this hostel was great, the location, the staff, the activities. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful, especially Edmundo from the reception !

Great Hostel for solo travelers with lots of activities (Jade made sure that it never got boring 😁) I was in the capsule room that was very nice for some extra comfort/ privacy, lots of showers/ bathrooms so there was never a queue even though it was fully booked

Stayed here for a night after we got the bus in from Flores, Guatemala. It was perfect as it’s super central - by the park and fort where the bus dropped us off. Lots of restaurants, ATMs and shops nearby but the hostel is tucked away enough that the rooms are quiet. Ground floor rooms too which helps when you have heavy bags. Staff were very kind and helpful. After checking out, we were able to leave our bags in lockers and the staff said we could even use the showers if we wanted to (we didn’t need to but we noted their generosity!)

Beds were comfy, and the room is well-equipped for humid, hot nights. It was overall clean. The common areas are simple but good enough to chill. The host and volunteers were very friendly, too!

I recently stayed at a wonderful Hostel that exceeded all of my expectations. The facilities were impeccably clean and well-maintained, which made for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The shared kitchen was a fantastic bonus, as it allowed me to save money on meals and prepare my own food. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and always went out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at this Hostel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

Best hostel so far! The stuff is lovely ( cannelita too!), the hostel is super clean and new and the vibe it’s amazing! If you wanna feel like home that’s definitely the place.. Geovanni, Gus and Hann make you really feel like being part of the fam🤍

We absolutely loved our stay here at Ukayil, the room was MASSIVE and very comfortable with all amenities you need, even a coffee maker, plates and cutlery. The A/C was amazing, the room is decorated nice, check-in was a breeze with little lock-boxes to collect keys after hours. The bathroom and shower were very good too and there was lots of space to hang clothes inside and also a washing line outside too. The location was quite good too, it's about 15 minutes to walk into the centre from here, which is not bad, and you definitely don't need a taxi to the centre or to the boat jetties or free municipal swimming area - they are all walkable. But it may be a bit far for some - but taxis are cheap if you need them. The taxi to the ADO station from here was ~mx$40. The host was also very helpful and nice, bringing us blankets when we first checked in, and then helping us arrange a taxi to the ADO station to leave on the last day. Overall, this property is probably the best value for money place we've stayed in this whole trip through Mexico, given the comfort and size of the room, walking distance to centre and great price, we wouldn't hesitate to book here again.
