The attention, the service, and the kindness of everyone who works at this hotel (housekeeping staff, kitchen staff, and manager). The impeccable cleanliness of both the exterior areas and the room. In the room, there are trash cans with plastic bags, a glass with a bathroom kit, a refrigerator, additional coffee, tea, and water, and a balcony with beautiful views to watch the sunrise and sunset. Additionally, the hotel host offers an itinerary for affordable excursions to Abu Simbel, Luxor, and felucca rides, among others.

Location: Quiet local neighborhood with kids playing on the street around sunset. The house overlooks the Nile. The square in front, flanked by two mosques, has direct access to the river with a small beach for swimming and boat pickups / dropoffs. The main riverside promenade is within 10 minutes walk. There is a proper Carrefour supermarket and ATMs (in the lobby of the Old Cataract hotel next door) on the way. To me, the area felt much nicer and more authentic than Elephantine island. House: Just renovated, the cleanest I've seen in Egypt (especially the kitchen and bathroom). I stayed in a double, which had the necessary amenities. The rooftop is available with pretty sunset views (see attached pic) and a nice chill area, best enjoyed with a tea. Host: Really helpful, English and Spanish speaking, very responsive, with lots of practical travel experience and great recommendations, especially about navigating the local particularities on a budget.

One of the best hostels that i have stay. You wont be confused Ith Mr. GHANDI. he gives you all details and sugestions that you need. He could arrange the trip to Abu simble with Good price. The location is perfect in a nubian Village. Ten steps from Door to the nile river. You ciuld also swim in the nile. The breakfast is good too. Thanks Mr Ghandi and their staff.

I had an amazing stay at Wanees Hostel! From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. If there’s a rooftop or terrace, the view and vibe are just the cherry on top — the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring. The price is very reasonable for what you get — great service, comfort, and a memorable stay. It’s definitely great value for money. I highly recommend Wanees Hostel to solo travelers, backpackers, and anyone looking to experience authentic hospitality in a cozy, friendly environment. I’d definitely stay here again!

This beautiful guesthouse hosted by the most wonderful lady has an incredible view of the Nile. The facilities are clean and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and she was kind enough to make us a superb dinner too as we were too tired from our travels to go out. The lovely host is responsive and happy to organise cheap transport for you to go wherever you need in Aswan. It might seem out of the way but the location is perfect for all the sights. I would 100% return here to enjoy the beautiful view, the delicious home cooked food, and the company of the wonderful hostess.
