Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. We were extremely happy about our stay . Very spacious room, comfortable beds . The common spaces are very spacious and cozy. The location is great to walk to the center.

The units are equipped with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fridge, a kettle, a bath, a hair dryer and a dressing room. Featuring a shared bathroom with a shower and free toiletries, certain units at the homestay also provide guests with a terrace. At the homestay, all units are fitted with bed linen and towels. I usually don’t write reviews but this place is so good that I had no option but to write. This is a house. A proper house with a lovely backyard and cleanliness of highest standards. However, the real charm is the landlady. She is extremely polite and generous to the extent that she goes all the way to accommodate the guest’s needs. From little games to Onsen excursions, just staying at this property should be a reason good enough to visit Gifu. Finally, the food. I would recommend you to wake up super hungry because the landlady puts out a feast every morning! She is a cook par excellence and each dish (including the serveware) has a story to tell. It’s amazing how she manages everything on her own. There is nothing to not like about this place. I visited Gifu on a work trip but now this place has become my reason to return to Gifu. The city has an asset in this place and it truly shows you what Japan is when you take away the neon lights.

Guesthouse SHIGI is situated in Nakatsugawa, 7.7 km from Toson Memorial Museum, 7.7 km from Magome Wakihonjin Museum, and 8.2 km from Magome Observatory. It is located 46 km from Gero Station and provides a housekeeping service. There is a picnic area and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The stay was the highlight of the trip. Please don't think twice while booking this stay. It's just wonderful . We wish we had more time to spend at this wonderful gem of a place. And the host is very kind and helpful too and speaks good English. He even dropped us at magome where we started the trail. He has good collection of music too at his place which we were able to enjoy. We loved everything about this little village and our short stay. The property features free bikes, garden and parking on-site among other facilities. With quiet street views, this accommodation provides a balcony. Each room is equipped with a terrace with garden views and free WiFi. great host, Hiko. friendly and spoke English well. we arrived late but he waited for us so he can personally welcome us. the apartment is very near the Gifu-Hashima Station and there are restaurants and konbinis nearby.

It was going to be dark when I arrived and so she saved me the walk uphill and picked me up at the station. So very grateful for her and the place is so nice and clean and has everything you need for a stay over
