The guest house has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. Despite a last minute booking late at night due to cancelled plane and lots of people checking in at the same time the receptionist was amazing, patient and very helpful to make all the arrangements including booking a last minute taxi for very early morning. She’s a gem and should get a raise!!

A private entrance leads guests into the guest house, where they can enjoy some wine or champagne and fruits. This guest house is non-smoking and soundproof. The apartment is very clean and comfortable, colorful and nice. The hosts helped us with making reservations for trips and restaurants and were always available for everything we needed. We chose to have breakfast and it was delicious, it was served on the terrace with a great view over the garden. Maxime put a lot of effort arranging the garden and it looked spectacular, it was even a small pond with fish. We recommend staying at Casa dos Castanheiros and we hope to return soon.

Very attentive and caring service from Sara (thank you once again!) who was there every day and took care of everything. A washing machine was also available if needed. The kitchen (I cooked for 12 days) was well equipped. Good location - close to a supermarket, about a 30-minute walk to the centre. Although it is better to have a car on the island, it is difficult to get anywhere else outside Angra.

The beautiful old renovated house with internal terrace and garden, the very spacious room with terrace access, the fully equipped kitchen (although I didn’t cook), the extremely kind gesture of Margarida, the owner, to provide with a great offer of coffee, tea, chocolate, sugar, biscuits, milk and orange juices. Also very lovely the three cats that roam the garden and terrace. Bed and pillows very comfortable, in the bathroom shower gel and shampoo. Location is winning smacked in the historical centre of Angra but very quiet at the same time. It was home away from home. And Margarita is super nice and very very helpful. Highly recommended.
