As college students who took a bus into Locorotondo, we were limited in our ability ti get around without a car. Despite speaking no English, “Papa Cosimo” drove us to&from anywhere we needed to go - for only €10 for each day.

Il Gabellota Resort offers you the opportunity to enjoy the Puglia countryside while staying in a Trullo or a stone room. Traveling around Puglia, we wanted to book typical accommodation, rather than a hotel. And Il Gabellota Resort was excellent choice. It is located in a quiet area and only 15 min walk to the center of beautiful Alberobello. Big parking is placed within the complex and is safe. Staff is very nice and professional. This complex has amazing exterior, they paid attention to all details, with lots of green area, trees, flowers and even turtles 😊 Rooms are located in separate units, with sitting area in front of each room. There is also lots of sitting areas around complex. Pool area is also very nice. Rooms and bathroom are so nice, specious, clean, comfortable bed, with mini bar and AC. Breakfast served is very good with great choice of food, sweets and fruits. In case we are back to Puglia, we are definitely coming back.

It was beautifully renovated and even has a steam room. The bathroom is better than some 5 star hotels we have stayed in. Brand new with great shower and amenities. The steam room was a plus! Extremely clean and very comfortable bed and bedding with extras . The room was very spacious with high ceilings. Alessandro was so amazing and stayed up to keep in touch throughout the night as we were going to arrive around 2 am. We drove from Florence to Bari. Make sure if you arrive by car you know where the 24 hour garage is . It’s literally a 3 minute walk from the apartment but ask Alessandro and he will let you know which one. I forgot the name. We didn’t have cream for our coffee and he brought us cream, water and some wine. He didn’t have to do this. The apartment had so many snacks as well! The area is so safe that even though we arrived at 2 am, it didn’t feel scary at all. There weren’t many people on the streets but still we felt extremely safe ! Def a very safe city and. Neighborhood!
