We had an amazing stay at Har's place. The location is nothing short of dreamy, with amazing views of the valley hills just in front. Har has constructed all the houses (I recall around 3-4 now) by himself, you can check on his IG for more detail on how he built them! All of them are really comfortable and unique, following the local architecture, blending with nature and each of them providing a different experience.
Har is an expert and consultant on organic farming and produces his own veggies that he uses to cook the most fantastic breakfasts you will ever have, super yummy and different everyday, with the plus of overviewing the views directly from your stay. Don't forget also to order dinner from him, much better than eating anywhere else, every meal was amazing.
Har always went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, showed as around his plantation (he plants to reforest the area with a thousand fruit trees!) and the best: he gave us the best tips on the island, pointing spots that are not even in Google Maps and ready to explore. Think on pristine waterfalls, empty beaches, beautiful local villages, hills, etc.
Please visit Har and Sumba before it gets ruined by the evils of mass tourism, and please visit with an open mind, it's raw, wild, authentic, and that's why is missing facilities compared with other destinations, but that what make it so unique and special.
Thanks so much Har, we cannot wait to visit you again, cannot wait to see your new creations, houses, farm and forest!

Hars was a superb host and guide. Love what he is doing with the cabins and the organic farming. Charming place to chill with access to East Sumba
Everything was perfect. Quiet and gorgeous view. Highly recommended.
A truly unique experience. A breathtaking view from every bungalow. The owner Hars has created an organic paradise where 80% of all the meals come straight from his garden. Hars and his Japanese wife are fantastic hosts and organised everything for us including transport to and from the airport , bike hire and three organic meals a day. On top of that we got to learn lots about real organic farming techniques and the special island of Sumba… thanks Hars we will be back.
Nice stay in a quiet region. The beach was great for walking, swimming with kids was not possible, but there is a nice pool.
It is een quiet piece of paradise. A bit secluded so if you want to see the surroundings you will need to rent a motorbike. The coast road to Waikuri beach is scenic and we saw just a few other cars/motors. Don't forget tot stop sometimes and look voor deserted beaches and kliffs. . The food and juices are delicious The beach is deserted and you can snorkel right from it at high tide.
Speechless!! From the start of our stay to the finish, Mario and Siska’s family were the most helpful, kind, caring family we have ever had!! Mario let us rent his bike (which I’m told is his pride and joy and by how well it drove and looked, I’m not surprised!!) If you’re looking at Oro, you HAVE to go there!!! Really quiet, peaceful beach that 90% of the time you have to yourself. Ask them for snorkels and they supply too!!
A great stay at Siska's guesthouse. Comfy bungalow in the midst of a beautiful garden (jungle). Amazing clean sandy beach without any crowds. Delicious home cooked meals for a good price. It felt like we were staying with a family. We were looked after so. well. Also Siska organised airport pick up and drop off as well as the the rent of the motorbike at reasonable prices. Even WiFi has been made available at this remote location. Highly recommended.
Great views! The small villas all have a balcony and I could just sit there forever. I also liked the village life leading up to Morinda. It is great to motorbike around. Although English of the staff was a bit limited they helped us perfectly with a cheap taxi to West Sumba.
Such a beautiful surroundings of hotel. Really good price for value. Food was good and cheap.
