Located in the heart of the Loch Lomond National Park in the village of Arrochar, Lochside Guest House offers a traditional Scottish or continental breakfast as well as beautifully decorated bedrooms with free Wi-Fi. This is one of the best places I have stayed. The staff was helpful, the food was simple but delicious, and the connected pub is a good place to have dinner and drink. The location is perfect for exploring the Highlands and is 1.5 to Edinburgh and only a few hours to the Two Sisters and excellent hiking and outdoor adventures. I travel 42 weeks a year for work, staying at some of the best (and worst) hotels in the world. Lochaide Guest House is 100% on the best side, a quiet, comfortable, clean, well-located place to stay that I would highly recommend.

Situated next to Balloch Rail Station, Tullie Inn offers comfortable accommodation 1 mile from Alexandria town centre. Free WiFi is available in all public areas, and free private parking is possible on site. The attention was nice. The rooms were cozy and nice, with a beautiful countryside touch, a little like part of an Agatha Christie’s novel. Breakfast was excellent (included in our booking)

Standing in the shade of a magnificent 500-year-old oak tree, this traditional bar/restaurant is ideal for those wishing to escape from the rush of modern day life. The non-smoking inn is adjacent to the West Highland Way and is ideal for walkers. After a long day spent exploring the region’s magnificent scenery and breathing in the invigorating fresh air, you can satisfy your hard-earned hunger with a delicious meal. Food is served all day and the bar has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere and a real log fire. I really enjoyed the privacy and charm of the room. Food in the restaurant is a must (try the steak pie). Also the location is superb. So much to do close by (check out the website for great tips). The staff was really helpful too.

The owner of the place is very hospitable.

Wonderful hosts: a couple who were very responsive and understanding, addressed and fixed any room issues immediately, were cognizant of our time and needs, served delicious breakfast, gave great travel advice on Loch Lomond and overall Scotland itineraries, and great conversation (my mom and I learned a lot about Scotland), checked in with us to see if we arrived at our next destination House and room: clean, warm, anything you could need Parking: plenty in front of the food store across the street or in the parking lot behind it Guests: other families and young travelers I booked this homestay with my older mom, and we both agreed this was everything you could want in a homestay!

Free private parking is available on site. Warm, cosy and so well equipped. Literally had everything you could think of including tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, milk, laundry powder, dish washer tablet, washing up liquid, dish cloths, cooking oil etc. The hot tub was an absolute dream and the fairly lights just made it even better.
