Great location, clean and tidy room, good choice of complimentary coffee, as well as the feeling that our host trembled us and I believe all other guests as V.I.P. Maria and Andrea, went way beyond our wildest expectations. Imagine receiving a message before our arrival from Palermo offering to collect us from the bus station. Our room was immaculate and on arrival we were greeted with a breakfast tray on our bed with a bottle of champagne and snacks. Elsa d’Ortigia is on the second floor of a heritage building in the heart of the old city. It’s a five minute walk from the stunning seafront and in the very throbbing heart of Ortigia. The old city with its narrow streets can be a touch noisy but for us it was a minor irritation. Maria’s breakfast is truly legendary. We were greeted in the small kitchen, where breakfast was served by the aroma of Maria’s freshly baked cakes and many of the other delicacies found in this magnificent small town. We enjoyed four truly stunning days in Ortigia. We could not have chosen a better place to stay at Elsa d’Ortiga. In true style Andrea took us back to the bus terminus to catch our connection to Noto. We came as guests and left as friends.
