This is the place to stay if you want peace, quiet and beautiful views. Yes, you need a car to get there, and, yes, you also need a car to go out to dinner, but that wasn't a problem to us, quite the opposite, we were looking for that. Room was clean and as in photos, the view from our window was stunning. Breakfast was served fresh every morning and had some nice and personal touches like homemade jam. Last but no least, the hosts were so welcoming and polite, gave dinner recommendations and were open to give you any recommendation and help you need. On the morning of our check out there was no rush and we were welcome to check out when we wanted, and since after check out we went to the Paiva Walkways (p.s. very close to this property as also is Arouca 516), the host suggested that if necessary, we can come back after the walk and use the shower. We are glad we found this place, and hope to be back!

Our Lady of Remedies Sanctuary is 37 km from the luxury tent. The owner is a really friendly guy who s tells good stories and is very helpful. The view is breathtaking and you have your own private pool. The tent and the bed are more then okay and suitable for a long stay (we stayed 10 nights). The Douro Valley is magnificent and offers so much to see and to do.
