Stunning location, amazing food, wonderful hosts! We had two night here for our honeymoon and we loved everything about it. The staff were so kind, helpful, and patient. We had a massage and a facial organised by the hotel and they were both great. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The host was very friendly and welcoming. He was respectful and gave us space but had lots of very good suggestions which we enjoyed. He even helped us to set up the bbq pit and get it going so we could bbq, and there were lots of groceries and things that were provided. The facilities are generous: can take 12 guests comfortably with two shower rooms and 4 WCs The place is quiet with easy parking and within short drive (less than 30 minutes) of major outdoor adventure locations. Its a great base camp for outdoor activities. I would love to come again in a different season and see all that minakami has to offer!

The atmosphere was unlike anywhere I have been before, the mountains, room, hotel decor and the river at the bottom were exceptional. The staff were very helpful and the half board dinner and breakfast were superb. The private outdoor bath on the balcony is a wonderful place to just sit and take in your surroundings.

We would highly recommend Nakaya Ryokan to anyone else we know travelling. We thought the hospitality was exceptional and we are very grateful for the experience we had. They helped us manage our luggage via storage. They were always so helpful and kind. They offer private onsens which were outstanding. My stay at Tenjin Lodge was very good! The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast and dinner were very good and tasty! The accommodation also had an ofuro (Japanese bath), which was pleasant. The location was ideal, since my purpose for the trip was to go hiking, and the accommodation was located close to hiking/trekking trails. The staff was helpful and friendly, I highly recommend this place!

Such a lovely and more traditional experience, the food, the people, sleeping on futon, using the kotatsu and the onsen was so nice. Absolutely loved the stay here. I'm not a big seafood person but I still really enjoyed all of the meals, there was always plenty of delicious things to eat even if there were one or two I was being picky about.
