Situated in Rio de Janeiro and with Flamengo Beach reachable within 2 km, Villa Paranaguá Hotel & Spa - Boutique Hotel features concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout... The deco - living room/dining room is very tasteful and gives you a feel of homely vibe. Food menu is limited but sufficient. Swimming pool is good size. You also have a game room to play a round of pool, or can retreat to sauna room to steam off all those caipirinhas. Staff (Pablo, Leo to name a few) are so hospital and professional. I was sick during my stay and their tentativeness (and the comfort of the hotel) certainly made the experience much more endurable. Hotel is also pretty close to main area of Santa Teresa by foot.

Tião Botelho Guest House in Rio de Janeiro provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. I was in Rio de Janeiro for a week and wanted a place not too expensive, from where I could visit the city : it's near the Lapa neighborhood who's a place to see, there are groceries and restaurants nearby, etc. And for the most touristic places of the city, I went by taxi. I also wanted a place where I could have some calm for working on my computer : I stayed many afternoon on the balcony, it was perfect, sunny but not to hot and really quiet (as for the nights). The owner is really nice and makes you feel at home. For me, it's a great place for backpackers with low budget who wants to visit Rio and stay in a less-touristic area than Copacabana.

The Hotel Monte Alegre is an economic option located in the centre of Rio de Janeiro, near the popular Lapa district and with easy access to museums, theatres and other attractions. Amazing location in the city center. Near bus stations. Near supermarkets and pharmacies. Staff is friendly and will help you in anything you need. The interiors are nice and the rooms are super comfortable. AC, desk and closet.

Ideally situated in the Santa Teresa district of Rio de Janeiro, Lobie Armazém São Joaquim is situated 2.4 km from Flamengo Beach, 1.2 km from Escadaria Selarón and 2.7 km from Municipal Theatre of... Everything. The decor, the room, the location. Cool bohemian cafes and bars for breakfast and night hang out in the area. Close to the Explorer restaurant. The restaurant of the hotel is also extremely popular. They let us check out way later than the official time. Nice gesture.

L'Hotel Americano es troba al barri històric i cultural de Lapa, a Rio de Janeiro. Totes les habitacions disposen d'aire condicionat i TV per cable i l'establiment ofereix aparcament gratuït. My room was large and my bathroom had been newly renovated and had a large jacuzzi. I also had a small entrance room that had a fridge and computer table. I was comfortable and overall enjoyed my stay. The location is relatively central although you do have to walk a bit to the metro.

The perfect oasis of tranquility in the hustle and bustle of Rio. I will definitely come back next time I’m in Rio :)
