The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s... We had the best experience! Hotel staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The bar was a highlight for us and they made special drinks to appease my husband’s curiosity about the Arrack. Definitely a highlight of our entire trip!

This was our second stop upon arrival in Sri Lanka, after a night and day in Colombo. It has been my and my daughter's top favorite hotel and stay, because mainly of its colonial and historical charm. A wonderful place, led by a female manager, which is to be underlined, a very nice lady. The staff is local, the attention to detail as well (!), the food and breakfast are super copious, generous and fresh, there is a nice à la carte menu, and the pool is wonderful. My daughter enjoyed it! We were lucky to be and visit Galle during the week-end, so we didn't feel the over-touristic crowd and atmosphere, since many Sri Lankan were strolling along the city walls, visiting. This is definitely a very touristic spot, the many shops attest this, but there are a few very nice and niche places. Stay min 2 nights, and if you can and want you may tour the nearby beaches and towns and wildlife reserves from there, this is possible. We've also enjoyed our train ride from Colombo to Galle, which is not too long and absolutely wonderful in the lush coastline greenery. We loved our room, its setup, the geometry and decoration of the hotel, the beautiful purple lotus flowers and the local touches everywhere. Chic. It pleased my eye every day!

El Camellia Dwelling, situado en Hikkaduwa, ofrece alojamiento tranquilo y confortable, conexión Wi-Fi gratuita en todo el establecimiento, exuberantes jardines, recepción 24 horas y aparcamiento... Pathi was such a great host. Him and the other guy both cooked us breakfast both mornings which included hoppers, omlettw, juice, fruit all fresh in the lovely garden. Really quiet place close by the Hikkaduwa road and beach. Treats you like family in a beautiful house setting. Highly recommend staying here!

Fort de 19 Villa - Galle Fort es un alojamiento bien situado en el centro de Galle que ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado y wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. We really enjoyed our time here. They had a good parking area for our rented tuktuk. The room was great but what really stood out was the rooftop patio. It was nice seating up there for sunset. The family were very kind. Good location with everything in walking distance. It was quiet at night. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless!

Sri Lanka Dunes Unwatuna es un hotel boutique respetuoso con el medio ambiente cerca de la hermosa playa de Unawatuna (100 metros / 5 minutos a pie). All!! The hotel is in the middle of the town, just 100m away from the beach but without the inconvenience of being in a busy place. It is closed within a private yard full of trees with lots of animals popping around like monkeys, chipmunks and birds which makes you feel like being in nature. The hotel is very sustainable, gel and shampoo and filtered water in reusable containers. Breakfast was outstanding and the bedroom was big and still super cozy.

I wish I could stay here longer! Not only is the accomodation clean, beautiful and in the best location, the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I’d highly recommend booking far in advance so you get the best room upstairs overlooking the ocean! The staff are very attentive and warm and made me feel at home (even when I was feeling quite homesick!) You’re also in the perfect location and walking distance to Galle Lighthouse and the main road with all sorts of cafes and trinket shops! As a female solo traveller this is the perfect stay and I’ve felt very safe the whole time
