Left us some snacks and drinks in the mini fridge and also gave access to their kitchen if need be. They cleaned our room each morning. The location is not on a main road, so prepare yourself for off-roading. And if you have luggage, it needs to be carried down a trail path and up the steps into the room. Ana prepared us for the possibility of non-harmful insects since the location is surrounded by nature, which is expected. But they clean each day.

Fatima is a wonderful host; her welcome was warm, and the generous amount of food she provided was a delightful surprise. The apartment she offers is very comfortable, set in a beautiful garden with views of Pico mountain and the sea. It served as the perfect, peaceful setting for a relaxing retreat.

The view was amazing, with beautiful lush green mountains behind us, working farm fields filled with cows and crops, a picturesque town with a church and windmill and the mysterious island of Sao Jorge across the sound. The home had everything you needed to cook meals, prepare breakfast and enjoy coffee. The supermarket is a 5 minute drive from home. Raquel allowed us an early check-in and late check-out. There was plenty of parking for the other guests on the property. I really enjoyed my breakfast time out on the patio with the view. The washing machine was nice to use, and the home supplied a drying rack. Fantastic to have when you travel light. I will be back for sure and with more friends and family. We enjoyed the friendly neighborhood cats who would pop in and say hi. So cute!! Raquel provided plenty of towels which was nice to have to ask for more.
