We stayed at Casa Rural Lomito del Pino for almost 10 days in the first half of January and loved it. The area where it is located (El Juncal) is splendid – a wonderful valley and a very typical village at the end of a nice small road of 3.5 km. The road does not go further than El Juncal. So, it is a very calm place. And the house is an even calmer area, as you have to drive about 500m on a forest track to reach it. The house is nice. Carlos and Carmen, the couple owning it, are not only charming but also very helpful. They offered us delicious vegetables from their garden and gave us very useful advice. There are dozens of great walks you can take, which you can start from the house; no need to take the car. Just one thing: except if you like driving, we suggest you buy food for several days before arriving at Juncal because the closest shops (bakery and others) are in Tejeda – about 14km, which on zigzagging Canarian roads takes a bit of time. We very strongly recommend this address and want to thank again Carlos and Carmen (as well as their adult children – Carla and Nestor) for their warm and friendly welcome.

Beautifully constructed cottage away from the big cities on the island. Cozy beds and furniture. Great outdoor seating for meals. Full kitchen, hot shower, and very helpful host.

Huge sunny patio overlooking the valley and Roque Bentayga (beautiful at sunet). Great suntrap. House had everything you needed: large rooms, warm inside in February, good wifi, strong hot shower. Feel a bit remote (15 min drive to market), but very secure.

Everything was excellent. The house has been in Armando's family for decades and has a very interesting history. The views are magnificent. Armando was a wonderful host. We ate in his restaurant two nights and Sunday lunch, we would have eaten there every night if he had been open. His food was excellent and he enhanced the experience with his knowledge about the history of Gran Canaria, Tejeda and Spain. His art was very interesting and we would definately come back again. Tejeda is a great location for walking, we were a bit unfortunate with the weather but walked everyday apart from one.
