Cottages in Bukit Lawang

We had most beautiful stay in lucky bamboo - the wonderful Garden near by the river and right in front of the jungle is awesome and the restaurant offers so much different (also vegetarian) local and fresh cooked food, it‘s amazing. We spent 5 days here and just fell in love with the place and the people! We really recommend booking a jungle tour in lucky bamboo, the guides Kella and Rasta are more than qualified and so sweet and friendly people. Also Johnny, the host is full of hospitality and really wants you to feel like home. It’s a magical place and we really look forward to visit our little jungle-family again! An unforgettable experience in Bukit Lawang! The jungle trek was absolutely incredible. Surrounded by lush landscapes, the sounds of the rainforest, and the magical encounter with wild orangutans — everything was perfect. Our guide was passionate, caring, and deeply respectful of nature. He took the time to explain everything, which made the adventure even more meaningful. The trek was well organized, with nice breaks and even a delicious meal in the heart of the jungle. A truly authentic immersion in nature — I highly recommend it to all wildlife and adventure lovers

Great location in quiet village - a short walk away from the more touristy side of town. Great for kids. Wonderful and attentive hosts. Friendly neighbors.

This is a MUST STAY if you come to Bukit Lawang, especially if you’re here long term! I stayed here for two weeks (WITH A ONE YEAR OLD BABY) and these are the things I love about this place! : 1. This has been the most comfortable stay I’ve had in my many years of travelling. Room is cleaned very often, laundry room (fully equipped up to detergent) is available at all times, cooking facilities is clean and equipped, food made freshly and upon request and delivered to room (if required)… it’s much better than home! Haha 2. The owner is a very lovely lady who has travelled and worked abroad quite a bit, so she is very understanding about the needs and requirement of her guests. I came here with a friend with a baby. Our mealtimes and food (Very delicious by the way) requests were sometimes different but she managed to cater to us with a smile always. Even my baby loves her food! She always took an extra step to care for us. Whenever we mentioned something wrong with our health, she would immediately suggest or bring some medicine. Very important ; She NEVER forced or pushed us to take any touristy trip from her, not even trekking. She was also VERY HONEST about how things are done here, and suggested various other cafes or accommodations when requested. She didn’t sell her place or activity and she made us feel so free - truly like a family member who just wanted us to have a good time - something you rarely find when travelling to touristy areas. 3. The location is right in the middle of the village. My one year old always has something to do here. Everyday we see geese, cows, birds, squirrels and other animals within walking distance to this accomodation. There are a few fish ponds and we’re allowed to feed the fishes as well. The house is set in the midst of a garden, so our view from the window is always green and you hear and see birds chirping All the time. The river is also within walking distance and you have a few choices to go to.

The stay was perfect. The room was very comfortable and the location was excellent. The breakfast was great and the people were so helpful and friendly. Very well organized, Dedy Cool letting us know in advance the distance from the airport and helping with getting to the hotel. We did the one day tour and it was provided by fantastic tour guides who were extremely knowledgeable about the rainforest and Orangutangs. We would highly recommend.
