Located at the top of a hill/mountain with panoramic views of the town and entire valley, this winery/accommodation has an unparalleled location. Sitting on the terrace, enjoying their wine immediately in front of the vines is something special. The room was spacious and very comfortable and my only regret was that I could not stay longer! Special acknowledgment for the afternoon/evening property manager, Karim, who was not only great at his job but a great person to have conversation with.

There aren't enough words to describe what a little slice of heaven the Last Word is. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Conrad and his team were so welcoming and attentive to all our needs. They were helpful and informative, giving you advice on things to do but also space to explore. The attention to detail is unmatched. Small gestures such as a thoughtful dessert on your bed at the end of the day, were just some of the ways they made our stay special. The facilities are luxurious, the location is perfect for exploring Franschhoek on foot. The only negative feeling we had during our entire stay was having to leave. Would recommend 100 times over. Thank you!

Incredible staff, breakfast was amazing! Grounds were stunning and the hotel was so safe. Pools were either heated or cooled so perfect for smaller children. Great concierge with experienced recommendations of things to do and see.

Seriously after travelling so many time to SA we never had a more helpful and friendly staff. They are most of the time amazingly friendly but this one topped it all! The Location is also absolutely superb. Only can recommend it very much!!! We do come back!!!

    Franschhoek is a wonderful little town in the heart of the winelands. There are a plethora of great vineyards to visit, excellent restaurants and our Grandson really enjoyed the Motor Museum. It's an easy 1 hour drive from Cape Town.

    Franschhoek is one of our favourite places in South Africa. It feels like you are transported to the French countryside, with idyllic views, glorious food and the best wine farms. It is a special little town that we visit often.

    We know Franschhoek quite well, but enjoyed discovering new restaurants a spar treatment at Le Franschhoek hotel and shopping. We visited Leeu estate for a great wine tasting and had dinner at Bon Vivant across the road of our hotel which was amazing.

    Franschhoek is one of the most picturesque wine growing areas that we have visited across a number of countries. The main street is a great mix of cafes, restaurants and shops including some wonderful galleries. There is a fabulous market on Saturday mornings and the wine tram is the way to go to visit many wineries.

    We were there for the Literary festival (which is highly recommend.) There are so many excellent restaurants to have dinner in (some of best in the Region) Its a beautiful little village with boutiques,art galleries ,cafes. And dozens of top class wine farms . Try L'orangerie at La Lude,Oku and La motte for dinners.

    Franschhoek is a lovely town and this is a nice hotel close to the middle of the town. The room was very comfortable and had a small plunge pool, freezing but refreshing on the hot days we were there. The staff were friendly and there was a limited but pleasant breakfast.
