This has to be one of my favourite places I have stayed in Vietnam. The host was amazing, helped us to organise activities in Mù Cang Chai which really made our stay special. Incredible views, so peaceful, would love to visit this homestay again.

If you want to be close to real life of Vietnamese, try this place. It's in the middle of hills, with one of the best views which I have ever seen, close to villages where you can find people, which are still not so influenced by tourism. The room was clean and nice, but the most important point is the personality of the owner, really brilliant lady who is able to organised everything what you need. And the dinner with her and her family was the excellent and very pleasant experience.

This is an exceptional and truly charming hotel. For context, we are well travelled and have stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. There is something very special about Garrya Mu Cang Chai. Firstly, the hotel design is beautiful and reflects the local area. Stunning communal spaces with high bamboo ceilings, green marble tiles used in the pool, sun loungers the same colour as the soil etc. The staff are wonderful. Extremely helpful, proud to be working at the hotel and genuinely want you to have the best stay. Special mention to Luis in the bar and the F&B manager, but really, all the drivers, wait staff and reception have genuine smiles on their faces! They are also proud to employ local staff (H’Mong) that they are training up and again just really want to make your stay as good as possible. We were lucky enough to stay in a 2 bedroom villa with pool and it was beautiful. We also saw the rooms and if you are a couple, I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Grand Deluxe room, (not much more expensive and IMO the deluxe room is too small for a hotel of this calibre)! If you have a sense of adventure, the hotel can organise a motorbike trip to the horseshoe paddy and bamboo forest. Mu Cang Chai is an area of outstanding natural beauty and well worth exploring. This was one of our favourite parts of the trip. Spa is excellent, as were the activities organised by the hotel. Gently, but enough for 2-3 nights.

A vacation that exceeded my expectations in Vietnam. I booked a room and immediately contacted the accommodation for directions—almost instantly, the host responded and even booked a bus ticket for me. He took care of everything from start to finish; all I had to do was follow the instructions. The next day, it rained in the early morning, but the weather cleared up beautifully afterward. I went on a motorbike tour with the host, Ky, who took me to some of the most stunning places I’ve seen throughout my trip in Vietnam. Along the way, I hardly saw any tourists—only local people working diligently in the fields. You simply wouldn't be able to reach places like these without a guide, as they are generally hard to access and not shown on local tourist maps. The room was basic but had everything I needed. Perched on a hillside with a stunning view, it was a perfect spot to relax. The food was also very good and suited my taste, all at a very reasonable price. I wholeheartedly recommend the homestay and taking a trip to explore Mu Cang Chai with the host.

Stunning location high in the mountains on edge of rice paddies.... Lapatan Paradise is beautifully constructed with great attention to detail...designed by Nam our host. Nam and his wife Giang welcomed us warmly, picking us up by bike for the short ride to the homestay. Giang made delicious local food, and Nam guided us on foot and by scooter in the surrounding countryside. Our bungalow was charming, immaculately clean and very comfortable. We slept so well! 'Hidden gem' is such a cliche but Lapantan Paradise truly is one. We plan to return next year!

We had an amazing time at this homestay! The dorm is really spacious with big beds and curtains and bathrooms are really clean. But the best part is the family! The hosts are super friendly and speak good English. The family diner is really nice and is a great opportunity to discuss with the family and other guests. They also integrated us in their daily life (going fishing, visiting their rice fields,...). They will adapt to you, either providing organized tours or just giving you advice on what to do by yourself.

“The unique location, the simple beauty of the place, and the warm welcome into the Hmong family deeply impressed us. The peace and calm were truly soothing for us and our children. The hikes to the waterfalls and through the impressive mountain villages where the locals live were unforgettable experiences. Sharing a delicious family meal with the Hmong family was another special highlight of our trip. The wonderful view of the surrounding mountain landscape perfectly rounded off the experience.”
