Presidio is an often overlooked border town in the Big Bend region of Texas. There is much history to be discovered for those curious. Both the tallest peak and highest waterfall in Texas can be found nearby. Ojinaga is just across the border and makes for a great day trip. Big Bend Ranch State Park is a short drive away and worth spending several days exploring on the way to Big Bend National Park, good for several more days (or weeks) of outdoor marvel and enjoyment. Presidio is safe, relaxed, and has a great border town vibe. What it lacks in size or attractions, it makes up for in authenticity.
