Koh Mak is quite small but beautiful and has a lot of nature. Good kick-boxing school. Variety of good eating places Koh Mak seafood being one of them. It is far more relaxed than Koh Chang with less to do but I actually found the peacefulness and serenity more alluring. The people are friendly and it has a up early sleep when the sunsets kind of vibe but also if you want to be out later you can. There are some very picturesque beaches and bars. Also a variety of takes on food By the sea has great sandwiches etc. If the weather turns bad then this is when the boredom may be an issue. However I loved the thunderstorms and lightening shows. After researching on Google satellite I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Much lusher and more tourist-friendly than I expected. Though it's a small island, there's enough there to explore more than we could in 3 nights. And it is the ideal launching site to visit the famous diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Rang island. Very small island which is still kind of rural and not very touristy. That also means that there are not many amenities or fun things you can do. Accommodations are more basic, food or bar options are limited, and you've seen all of the island in a few hours. But you can also have a perfect chill time without any noisy tourist crowds or big loud party areas. Beaches are great. The horror of cockroaches bed bugs centipedes etc Dark garden trying to get dinner Two dog attacks. Booking . Com were no help with the airline change time of plane . Nice quiet island but very expensive compared to other places in Thailand. There's only a couple roads easy to explore the whole island in one day. Really nice and chill island, it's laid back and a great place for a break but you can also do activities such as snorkeling and diving. There's not loads to do but it's exactly what we were looking for, a little island paradise. Plenty of restaurants but not many bars. A day trip to Koh Kham is an absolute must! "The Ball Cafe" and "Pak Pak Vegan" are great cafés. Try "M.A. Bistro" for upmarket dinner or "Khun Mam's Kitchen" for an authentic Thai meal.Guest review byJamesIreland

I didn’t end up working but would be a perfect WFH set up with a desk facing the garden and good wifi. The yoga classes each morning with Kristina were great and so easy to have them on site, I also enjoyed using the pool. Mr Peak was always available and I was able to rent a scooter from the hotel which made exploring the island super easy. It was not a 5 star resort but that added to the uniqueness of the place. They were quite accomidating to all our needs. Dylan was lovely and helpful and always happy to assist. we loved the vibe of that side of the island. Yes the beach might be slightly better on the other side but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back. We loved being so close to the beach and had an amazing time.
