Great trails, both half-day or full day, from moderate to slightly challenging (especially for anyone with mobility issues). Skok waterfall trail is terrific. Jamske Pleso trail is flatter and less rough, but we did see a common viper on the trail and fresh bear poo! The trail around Strbske Pleso lake itself is very enjoyable and scenic. Furkotka restaurant (opposite Hotel Toliar) and Koliba Patria restaurant overlooking the lake we're terrific value and lovely food. Strbske pleso itself is too touristy and developed.
Strbske pleso itself is too touristy and developed. The real value of this location is all the hiking that's possible in the area. The nature here is stunning. An easy one hour hike will take you to another lake called Popradske pleso and a further 90 minute hike (a bit more difficult) from there will take you to the largest lake Velke Hincovo pleso. That area is beautiful. It looks like something from The Lord of the Rings. There is also a great restaurant in Strbske pleso called Furkotka with great food and service.Guest review byIvanSlovakia

We had an apartment with a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. It was spacious and clean. We also had a balcony which we enjoyed at the evenings and the mornings. Breakfast was wonderful, lot of choices and nicely prepared. The location of the hotel is superb, we had a nice view to the valley from our balcony, and we started our hikes directly from the hotel, we did not need to use our car at all.Guest review byAnonymousHungary
