Bușteni really is a gem in the Prahova Valley. Its relatively flat layout compared to nearby towns like Sinaia or Azuga does make it more walkable, especially for longer strolls without steep climbs. Being right at the foot of the Caraiman Peak with the Bucegi Mountains towering around gives it that dramatic, postcard-perfect backdrop. It's no wonder the town has become a favourite for both hikers and casual visitors alike. If you're visiting to go see the mountains this is a great place. If you're looking for a city to walk through and do stuff in, it's almost useless. You can find good food, sure. Beautiful Bucegi mountains views everywhere! That's why people come here! But you have to put up with bad traffic, especially weekends! Not much food choices - after 6 most fast food joins were for sweet food. The restaurants were not great - Sinaia has better choices. The grocery shops are ok, parking was fine and the place is walkable. A lot of the people did not speak English or pretended not to because we felt like they did not want to interact with us when paying or asking a question. The host is extremely kind and welcoming. Very kind with check-in and check out time with us. When we arrived, we were greeted with their special sweets. There’s a cute little yard with a grill, table and chairs, and they even gave us firewood to enjoy a campfire—it was such a lovely experience! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook for a family. Close by to nevermore academy castle and 15 mins walk to the main Busteni street , which was very convenient.
