Saint-Gilles les Bains is a working town: attached to a tourist area, yes, but a town nonetheless. The information office has friendly helpful staff to advise you, but you need to choose where to stay according to what you want to do. Reunion has a lot to offer, all in range of Saint-Gilles les Bains but best with a car. On a small island where no journey takes a long time, it is wasteful to be tied to timetables. An amazing spot in Reunion island if you want to enjoy the beach. My family goes there regularly when traveling to Reunion island. The sunsets, the clear blue waters with corals and a variety of tropical fish, the soft sand and the hot sun, it is dreamy. The hotel had a separate beach, but unfortunately, swimming in the sea in front of the hotel was not allowed (a nearby beach can be used). The pool was nice and well-maintained. The staff was helpful, and even though some did not speak English, they tried to help. It is best to rent a car to visit other areas, especially on a rainy day, but the bus station is right in front of the hotel and only takes 7 minutes to get you to Saint Gilles centre.Guest review bySladjanaSouth Africa
