It's a nice apartment on the lower part of Prazeres. You will have a view on the sea and on some parts of the mountains. Lucky, there's a parking lot right next to the house and you only need 8 minute by foot to the next supermarket and pizza restaurant. The owner is very friendly and I was greeted with a clean apartment. There's a kitchen but it's only missing an oven. On the other hand, there are 2 big bedrooms, each with an own bathroom (shower and bathtubs). From there you reach Funchal within 45 minutes by car and the streets are in good condition. I made some hikes in the area and if you're not with a car, taxi (Bolt) there is no problem. Be careful about bus stops as I had trouble to find them. Overall I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to everyone who likes to have a quiet environment and a more rural experience. For a more organised daily life, a clothes rack at the entrance would be nice so I don't need to put my jacket away in the bedroom.

The couple we stayed with gave us a very warm welcome. It felt like home. There was incredibly good breakfast and a top organized folder with information about good restaurants, sights and hiking routes. Right at the beginning we got a short tour of the village, in which everything was explained to us.

Jorge was the nicest host ever - very friendly and welcoming on arrival and very responsive when I texted him via Whatsapp. The highlight of the apartment was of course the large and sunny terrace, which was the perfect place to relax after a hike. The apartment was equipped with everything we need and we enjoyed cooking in the nice and big kitchen.

Very small village with no people so if you are looking for that, it’s perfect. We have the villa just for ourself so it was very big and we felt like in italian villa with a really big kitchen and terrace.

The location and its surroundings are absolutely stunning, the modern, clean room design is gorgeous, and the breakfast and restaurant are an absolute treat. Our first impression was absolutely amazing; the first receptionist we met (blonde girl, I believe her name was Cristina) went the extra mile with us and gave us a free upgrade. She smiled a lot and provided us with an excellent service. She is a great asset to the company. The rest of the staff were also very nice. The check out receptionist (Zita) was also great to us. The room was very spacious with a great view to the ocean. The buffet was amazing, with a lot of food to choose from. We will definitely go back and we will recommend this hotel to everyone.

Prazeres is a small village.

Prazeres is a small village. It does have a restaurant and a bar but that's about it - we did not hang out there much. You can do a levada walk that starts from Prazeres, which is nice, and close by (~15 min drive) are Calheta beach, Paul do Mar, and Jardim do Mar, which are tiny beach villages which have a couple of nice restaurants. The north coast and Funchal are at a 40 minutes drive. If you have a car, the location is nicely located; if you don't, I wouldn't choose this spot, because there isn't much to do in Prazeres itself.
