Our stay here was a truly special experience. A really unique location with a sensational view, wonderful rooms, and a beautiful pool. But the best part is the people who have pampered us here and give this house its finishing touch. We felt completely comfortable and really enjoyed our time in this special house. Very nice winery with an amazing view on the wine fields. Very big and comfortable room, just perfect. Opportunity to do a nice wine degustation and dinner at the winery is excellent too. We were lucky to come in the harvest season and could witness the wine making from the start, when the grapes arrive in trucks. Douro valley is a fantastic area and for sure one should stay in a winery to get the full experience.

Excellent facilities and a very new hotel the staff were fantastically helpful friendly and efficient. The restaurant with its fantastic panoramic view was brilliant and the staff there, especially Viktor, Gui and Inesh deserve special mention.

The room was great with a comfortable bed and soft linens, a spacious bathroom - quiet and serene. The setting is incredible. The property was extremely well maintained and the view is lovely. What stood out to us even more was the staff that constantly went above and beyond during our stay. After a long day visiting the region, we were able to get an assortment of snacks later than the usual window of availability, which allowed us to eat dinner in a phenomenal setting. We wish we could have stayed longer and could not recommend it enough.

Nice village. Three restaurants, one is Michelin listed. A small mini-market half way up the hill and I think that you can do wine/port tasting right in the village too. We had a fantastic view from where we stayed and based on the lay of the land, I suppose that that's the norm

We loved being in a small quiet village within easy driving...

We loved being in a small quiet village within easy driving distance to many places in the beautiful Douro valley. Only drawback might be the fact that there is only one restaurant, La Bamba, which is pretty basic. There is another one, but it is Michelin starred and booked months in advance. We drove 15 minutes or so to a recommended restaurant in Regua, but could not find parking, despite making many circuits of the area, and ended up driving back to Folgosa and La Bamba. Generally, we found parking in towns to be a challenge in Portugal, and this was October - summer is surely worse!

Folgosa is very small but at the bottom of the hill is a Michelin star restaurant! Great food, atmosphere and service. Otherwise there are only a couple of very small restaurants. It is a pleasant short drive to nearby towns/villages that have more dining options. There are so many vineyards nearby. The one right next to Folgosa - Quinta Dos Frades - provides an excellent tour of the property and tastings. At other vineyards one does not get driven around the entire property. Folgosa is a nice place to use as a base to explore the Douro Valley.

Breakfast is good, The room is big and clean, the bed is comfort The location is not too far away from the city, and there is a beautiful view outside the hotel, you can go jokking if you've time. Specific timing of Wine tasting session if you stay at the hotel

Location is perfect, the quinta has all that is needed for a relaxed stay and is very clean. The breakfast is simple but good, the owners are very friendly. Folgosa is centrally located in the most beautiful area of the Douro.

Awesome place, host is very easy to be with. Breakfast on a balcony over the douro…. Anazing start to the day. Yes folgosa is a small village and you need to drive, but its worth it. Communal fridge was a bonus!!
