Our unit had everything we needed and more, super convenient, beautiful views from the room, sky TV, aircon, super clean, comfy beds, great shower pressure. Even though you have decks all around out the sliding doors it still felt private and personal there were trees separating between decks 😊 and we met Shelley she has a beautiful energy about her definirely coming back here what a perfect spot. Thank you Shelley and Ross! What a perfect spot yous have.

We absolutely loved our stay! The views were breathtaking, and it was so so peaceful, it truly felt like we were on top of the world. We booked the Kiwi Room, which was simple yet cozy and perfect for our needs. The outdoor shower was great, lovely & hot. My husband, who loves spending time outdoors, was thrilled with this quick birthday getaway surprise. It was the perfect escape, and we can’t wait to return!

Lovely helpful homestay host, great location across from the beach. The local Salt Air Cafe is perfect for breakfast and lunch. The surrounding area and little bays are stunning. Clean, stylish comfy rooms with own kitchen and bathroom. We managed to have a swim and a kayak just across the road. Wished we had the time to have stayed longer.

    Everyone said you must go to Shnapper Rock Cafe. Well too expensive for us. $110 for a steak?? $110 for a lamb roast?? We found that incredible so no lovely dinner out for us. We did have a cheaper lunch but really wanted a great dinner.

    This is a place for setting off to the Poor Knight Islands...

    This is a place for setting off to the Poor Knight Islands marine reserve for diving. There are some very scenic views on walks. The village has a few restaurants and a cafe. I stayed in the dead of winter and there were few people about. Mornings were cold. I'd revisit Tutukaka.

    Loved the little village of Tutukaka, the breathtaking...

    Loved the little village of Tutukaka, the breathtaking scenery and the delicious food we had at Marina Woodfired Dining. The Poor Knights trip on the Perfect Day Ocean Cruise was a must do. Matapouri Beach is stunning and the takeaways from the Matapouri Corner Store were delish. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tutukaka.

    We stayed 5 nights at Tutukaka and tried each restaurant...

    We stayed 5 nights at Tutukaka and tried each restaurant there. All within very short walking distances from Oceans Hotel.We went to Matapouri Bay a couple of days and then travelled to Whananaki another day which is a bit of a distance and a metal corrugated road. Definitely take a sun umbrella with you to all the beaches unless you want to fry! There are no trees on the beaches I really think the shops at Tutukaka should hire out beach equipment such as umbrellas etc. There is a lovely deli there and if I was them, I would be offering sandwiches / picnics for beach goers who are staying in the hotel.

    We visited in November when there were no crowds.

    We visited in November when there were no crowds. The road in and out was nice and quiet. Beaches empty. We especially enjoyed the local Anglers club. Beautiful food, good music and friendly staff.

    My Wife and I stayed at Tutukaka for our Anniversary.

    My Wife and I stayed at Tutukaka for our Anniversary. We enjoyed our stay, it was a hot day and we had a swim in the pool before going to dinner. The room met our expectations and plan to return again in the future and maybe bring our kids with us next time.

    This hotel has a wonderful location, forests on one side, ocean on the other. Our room was larger than the usual, and well lit, I do like to be able to read and write in comfort. We ate at the restaurant, Mara, the raw fish dish was great. The hotel complex includes the local general store, and the petrol station. Across the road is the Marina and boat launching ramp, and there are shops and cafes nearby. Many boat tours are available from the harbour.

    The apartment was worth every dollar spent and it shows. The property was tastefully decorated, the carpet was so lush and soft, and the bed was so comfortable. We also had access to a heated pool which was a pleasant surprise. The views, especially in the main bedroom, were also magical. Perfect spot to watch the sunrise and stargaze if the skies are clear. The location was a perfect in between to Tutukākā and Matapōuri beaches.

    Beautiful location. Very friendly and accomodating host with a lovely dog. Location is very convenient as it's close to Tutukaka for my diving activities. There is a lovely trail to a hidden cove with amazing sea views.
